Cat's Claw
Cat's claw is a huge, vine plant that is found in the tropical rainforest jungles of South America. The vine can grow up to 30 meters into the canopy, and is named after the spurs or claws that closely resemble cat claws that are found along this woody vine that hold it to the trunk of the rainforest trees. In herbal treatments the cats claw herb is derived from the bark of the vine as well as the root. Cats claw can be found in several applications including:
- Cats claw capsules
- Fluid extract
- Tincture
- Powder
Cat's claw herb has been used for over 2000 years by South American herbalists for treatment of a variety of conditions. These conditions include stimulating the immune system, balancing the body, reducing inflammation, killing cancer cells, detoxification, cleansing of the digestive system and the urinary tract and helping to manage degenerative diseases. Cat's claw is now used in a variety of treatments to help control yeast infections in women, and cat's claw and vaginitis treatments have been very successful to traditional antibiotic medicines. Cats claw may also be effective in treating other fungal or yeast infections in both men and women.
Cat's claw and enterococcus control in humans has been very successful. Enterococcus is a form of bacteria that can be found in human waste, and can lead to infections and serious health risks for patients in hospitals or those that have open wounds or sores. Many types of enterococcus are now immune to antibiotic treatment, but cat's claw properties including the anti-bacterial and immune stimulation effects of the herb are very successful in preventing and eliminating the bacterial infections. In the same category, many treatments using cat's claw and skin cancer treatments have been highly successful, especially when treated in the early stages of the cancer's growth.
Raintree cats claw products offer a complete range of supplements and herbal products that contain this amazing herb. There are few side effects of cats claw, although the products should not be taken before a transplant surgery as it increases the bodies immunity and may lead to rejection of the organ. Large dosages of cat's claw may initially cause some abdominal discomfort and diarrhea, but these will usually stop within two to three days if the dosage is reduced and then increased up to the required level.
